Vanilla store + middleware
React chapter 53 · Zustand create · middleware · source: pmndrs/zustand/src/vanilla.ts
The problem
The store is born inside a component (useState/useReducer). A websocket, a native module, or a test cannot call increment without React. Logging and persist are copy-pasted into every setter.
The pattern that fixes it
create((set, get) => ({ count, inc })) is plain JS. Middleware wraps set: logger, persist, devtools compose like (logger(persist(create))). React is one subscriber via useSyncExternalStore.
